Top 5 Toughest Tekken Characters

Yeah, I'm still in Tekken 6 mania at the moment. I recently got the PSP version too, and let me say, it is great. Maybe I'll post a review in the future.

Tekken's roster is incredibly diverse, with its collection of unique fighters covering every inch of the globe and all manner of martial arts. Amongst it are tons of macho-headed men who look like they could take on the whole world. Some are inhumanly powerful, and some are just inhuman. In this list, I'm only taking their story-based character into account. Their effectiveness in the actual gameplay is a whole different story.

--------------
5. Feng Wei
--------------

Just his face is enough to know hes someone you really don't want to mess with. He's a master of his kung-fu, and brutally powerful. He kills his master in the Tekken 5 intro, and breaks a freaking tree along with his master's body. His two endings so far seem to feature him breaking impossible things like mountains and giant boulders of lava with his bare hands.

He goes around smashing up dojos to test his strength, and has cops chasing after him because of it. As you can see, he's a bit of a total asshole. Feng is still a tough asshole, nonetheless.

-----------------------
4. Kazuya Mishima
-----------------------

Kazuya is definitely the original badass of Tekken. When he was a five year old kid, his father threw him down a cliff and was expected to survive the fall and climb back up to prove his strength. He barely survived the ordeal and had it not been for his deal with the devil, he would have died. He comes back, angrier than a mother fucker, and decimates all his opponents in the first King of Iron Fist tournament to finally defeat Heihachi and throw him down the same cliff he was thrown from.

A lot of his power is thanks to his control over the devil power, but that doesn't make him any less of a badass. In the second game, he gets thrown into a freaking volcano. Thanks to the G Corporation, Kazuya survives and gets even angrier than before. He totally destroys the ARMED Tekken force squad that is looking for him, and kills a majority of G Corporation so he can take over it. If anyone has the greatest strength of will, its Kazuya Mishima.

3. Paul Phoenix
-------------------

Here's everyone's favorite American muscle head. He's a loud, obnoxious, and recently stupid tough-guy stereotype. However, that's not to say he's not competent. The guy has unofficially won several King of Iron Fist tournaments. In the second game, he was on his way to fight Kazuya in the final but was stuck in traffic and missed it. In the third game, he actually made it to the final and defeated Ogre, but left before realizing that Ogre could transform into True Ogre.

Paul is all about being tough; he tries to lure a bunch of aliens to him just to prove that he is the "toughest guy in the universe". He's even Kuma's rival at one point. After losing to him in Tekken 4, he trains harder and defeats Kuma in Tekken 5. I know its a game, but he definitely just fought a bear in unarmed combat and won. What a tough guy.

-------------------------
2. Heihachi Mishima
-------------------------

Heihachi Mishima is the toughest old guy I have ever seen in the history of anything. He's a man in his 70's by Tekken 6, and he's still as fit as a 30 year old and completely destroying fighters that are less than half his age. Oh, and the guy got thrown down a freaking cliff. He doesn't lay there whimpering in pain with every bone in his body broken, either. He climbs back up the cliff with his hands, and he's COMPLETELY FINE. That's not the last time he defies death either. Check out the first part of the Tekken 5 intro.

Forget the fact that he's destroying robots built with space-age titanium alloy with his bare-hands. You know that explosion at the end? He survives that shit. It blows him several miles away, into a rock. His body has to be torn and battered after that, right? Nope, his body smashes the freaking rock and he gets up COMPLETELY FINE after a few days.

Besides his physical strength, he's also incredibly ruthless. He had power over the world with his company, the Mishima Zaibatsu. Even though ownership of the company has changed from game to game, Heihachi had the most time with it and probably ran it most effectively. And he really doesn't have any emotion towards his kids either; the guy tried to kill his son a countless number of times. He also shot his grandson in the head, and he just.did.not.care. Oh, and he gets props for being the only Mishima to not have the devil gene and be just as powerful. What a badass.

-----------------
1. Jin Kazama
-----------------

Jin gets to be strong because he's the main character, but he's still extremely tough both physically and mentally. He was only 19 in Tekken 3, but he single-handedly defeated True Ogre, which is a demonic chimera-like "God of Fighting" that breathes freaking fire. Right after that, Heihachi comes and shoots him twice. Jin survives, of course, with the help of the devil gene.

Then, in the fourth game, he defeats both Kazuya AND Heihachi consecutively. Finally, in the fifth game, he defeats the monstrous devil Jinpachi and gains control over the Mishima Zaibatsu. He's the youngest man in the family, but he manages to defeat three generations of men before him. He must seem like a fucking asshole to the Japanese culture.

He was all about justice in his first three games, but in six he becomes a badass with his power over the world as leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu. The guy had enough power to wage war on the ENTIRE WORLD, and he was actually doing a pretty damn good job at it. At the end of scenario campaign (SPOILER ALERT), he reveals his once again justice-y intent to rid the world of the devil gene by destroying the demon that started it (Azazel). He casually walks towards Azazel, deflecting several laser beams fired at him, and punches a hole into Azazel's body. That was a true act of badassery.
